Multi-Coloured Stamp Images

Hi Inkers!

Welcome to the Just Add Ink blog hop! I've never been on a blog hop before, so I'm really excited about our little event this week and looking forward having a hop along myself.

For those of you that have just come from Danielle's delectable site (bursting with inspiration no doubt), hello! For those of you, like me, that are new to the Blog Hop concept and would like to jump on board, let me tell you a little more about how this works.

There are 10 stops in total, Just Add Ink plus our 9 Design Team gals. The hop is set in a loop, so it doesn't matter where you start or finish. All you need to do to follow along is click the "blog hop" button at the end of each post and you'll be taken to the next stop!
Each design team member will be showing you a tutorial of their fave techniques and it's up to you to chose your favorite technique from the blog hop, and use that technique in your project and link it up as usual on the Just Add Ink blog before midnight Wednesday.

Here's my technique ...
Multi-Coloured Stamping with Markers!

For those of you that are unfamiliar with the Stampin' Up! markers, they are ultra juicy (yet not messy). I've used mine frequently for almost 2 years and there's still no sign of them slowing down.

They are filled with Stampin' Up!'s odor free, rich waterbased inks (same as the classic pads and stampin' spots), and they dry really quickly too. The colours in the markers are also true to the entire SU! range of products.
There are so many things you can do with them too.
But more on that another time!!

Here's my box of beauties (Ikea, before you ask)!

For this tutorial I thought I would use my Sip By Sip stamp set, also from Stampin' Up!.

The caps have grips on then so they are easy to remove. Now to narrow it down to three colours ...

Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose and YoYo Yellow.

One colour for each cup ... I hope there are some of you reading this that were completely unaware this was possible! Wait for the magic ...

Before I go on, another great thing about these markers is one end is thick...

... and the other end is thin (great for journalling, you scrapbookers!)

Now for the fun part ... colour each cup image a different colour with the thick end of your markers. Put the ink directly onto the stamp. Don't worry if it dries, I have a trick up my sleeve.

... colour in the 2nd cup with another colour - you get the idea.

After all the images you would like to stamp are coloured to your liking (here's that magic part) breathe on the inked image to re-moisten the ink just before stamping onto paper.

Ta-Daaa!

Now I'm using a little Sahara Sand to create some shadows under my cups. I just used the markers directly onto the paper this time.

This technique will open your stamp collection up to so many different possibilities. You don't need to use the entire stamp image! Next, I just want to use the "hello" part from this "Share A Cup" stamp (can you tell I like tea cups and coffee yet?).

I've carefully coloured in the "hello" part of the stamp (ensuring the rest of the stamp is ultra clean and void of ink), and as above I huffed hot air on the stamp just before stamping.

...and got away with not using my SAMJ! lol.

... and there you have it! A simple card to leave in your friends letterbox when you've popped in unannounced and they're not home!

Paper: YoYo Yellow, Ruby Red, Whisper White; Markers: Tempting Turquise, YoYo Yellow, Ruby Red, Sahara Sand; Stamps: Sip By Sip, Share A Cup; Ribbon: Baja Breeze; Other: Vintage button, twine.

I hope you're feeling inspired! Next stop on the Blog Hop is the wonderful Sarah Klass (click on the button below)! Have fun, and I can't wait to see what you make.

Bye for now,
